Continued Clean Up

While our nation deals with COVID-19 we have one more week to work in the Bahamas. The virus has is having an impact on the islands. Several relief teams have left or canceled their trips to come and help. We know of about 10 teams that have canceled their trips and quite a few homes have been put on hold. I understand that travel and lifestyles need to change while we deal with COVID-19 but I just wish we could deal with only one crisis at a time!

It is disappointing that teams are canceling their trips, but it does prevent the spread of the virus to the islands. The last thing these small island communities need is an outbreak here. There is very little access to medical care.

We are doubling up on projects to get as much done as possible before we head home. Hurricane season is right around the corner, but even a mild hurricane will send debris flying, which will do more damage. There is still so much damage to homes and businesses that have not been touched since Dorian.

Our last two roofing projects are almost done, which will help two widows have a dry place to live. I wish we could extend our trip and do more work, but we need to get home and start working on our summer plans.

We are going to miss the wonderful community of New Plymouth on Green Turtle Cay.
