We are underway!

Many, many thanks to all who generously contributed to the first phase of this recovery mission.

It has been a whirlwind of activity prepping for our trip to the Abacos. Thanks to so many of you who dropped off donations to our office. We did not think we would fit it all aboard but we did! We had a loading party Saturday afternoon with several volunteers bringing box after box aboard. Gam Zu is sitting a little lower on her water line, but she is a workhorse of a sailboat. 

Our first shipment of building supplies has been sent by barge from Palm Beach, FL. Hopefully it will be there when we arrive. We cannot take any more donated items, but financial gifts are needed to bring over more supplies and team members.

We cast off with a crew of five from Herrington Harbour Sunday afternoon November 3^rd, with beautiful weather and great wind from astern. We will be at sea with no communication for about 7 days and will update once we arrive in the Bahamas (if we can find an internet connection).
